The story
Why this site says "Fall. Get up. Build again.": six years of writing, the day the old blog was hacked, and the rebuild.
Welcome to my personal portal: a running showcase of the things I build, learn and break, at work and in my own time. Think of it as a trophy shelf that keeps growing.
On 10 October 2026 my WordPress blog was hacked. Some of six years of writing, the images, files and videos, is gone for good, and that still stings. But it also cleared the ground. I recovered what I could, moved everything to Hugo, and started again with something simpler.
Go down, get up again. That’s what this site is about.

Started writing
First post on the old WordPress blog. Six years of notes on Kubernetes, Go, Elastic and more followed.
-
⚠ The blog was hacked
Attackers got into the WordPress server. The site went down and many images and files were lost for good.
-
Rebuilt on Hugo
137 posts recovered and moved to a simple, static site I fully own. Old links still work.
-
A hub of my own
about.samarthya.me: what people read, the code I write and where to find me, and a six-part series on how it was built.
